We believe that the better our equipment is the more we can do and the further we can go. That is why we have sourced and hand-picked our gear from the best outdoor companies around the world. We are proud to support our South American brands such as Doite alongside well-known outdoor giants such as The North Face, Therm-a-rest and Mountain Hardware.
We have specifically tailored our equipment itinerary for every trek, in every condition, to adapt for all your needs. We understand you may have traveled from far to be with us and we don’t want you to worry about anything you don’t need. We were all set to provide you with both personal gear and equipment for the group. We are extremely proud of the quality we provide you with, and we want you to check it out below.
Personal and Group Equipment
Most of our customers have traveled far to be with us, carrying only the essentials. That is why we will set you up with your own personal gear for the duration of the trek. We have a fully equipped storage container that is full of resources for all your needs.
First, you will be given a duffel bag for all your personal belongings, a tent for just you and one other, a sleeping bag, a self-inflating mat and a camp bed. The group will enjoy our social tents and dinner tents while luxury tours can relax in our glamping tents. If you’re a nature newbie, do not worry, we have top-of-line portaloos, camping chairs, and tables so you feel comfortable.
There are certain things we do expect you to bring along yourself; these can be found on the specific trip pages. However, if there is any issue concerning personal gear, do let us know before starting the trip and we can see what we can do to help.
Our Glamping Tents
Your private luxury hotel with a million stars! Imagine being woken by bird songs and rustling trees in the middle of fabulous nature but surrounded by the incredible luxury of a hotel room.
Our Glamping Tours combine glamour and camping, bringing the luxury of a hotel room into the wild and wonderful outdoors. These include a spacious and light cotton tent filled with soft blankets, cushions and candlelit lanterns.
They are the ideal original option for those special occasions, luxurious trips, and family moments
Other Kind of Tents
We know your sleep is important, especially when adventuring! That’s why we have versatile tents which are pitched for you by our porters.
Our fleet of tents include the K-2 XT Eureka tent, rain or shine these tents perform! Ventilation for those hot days and 4-season weatherproof capabilities for those extreme conditions. We also carry the Northface Alpine Guide 2 tent, renowned for its hybrid technology.
These tents decked out with our other equipment guarantee for a great night’s sleep.
Our Adventure Gear
We have our own fleet of Mosso and Shimano Mountain bikes, which we have pimped out with Bianchi suspension. We take your safety very seriously that is why you will also receive mountain biking body armour, leg shields and full-face shield helmets from prestigious brands such as Fox and SevenIDP. So, no matter your skill or the terrain, you will get there in style and safety. Other adventure experiences and equipment such as our white-water rafting and zip-lining, are run by external companies with excellent reputations and local knowledge. We personally trial and test each third party to certify that it is up to Southern Peru Explores standards and ensure quality.
Sleeping Equipment
Alongside your personal tent, you will be given one of our self-inflating light-weight roll mats from the leading brand in this area, Therm-a-rest to make sure you have the best nights rest on any trek.
To compliment this, you will also receive one of, either, our Northface or Therm-a-rest’s down alpine sleeping bag which has the impressive temperature limit of -6C. Both boast a quilted blanket interior, a foot warmer pocket and a cinchable fitted design. Best of all, these sleeping bags are certified for responsible and sustainable down manufacturing.
For certain tours and upon request, we can use camping beds to make you feel like at home. We carry extra blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags for your needs and comfort.
