Why choose the Inca Trail 4-days trek?
The 4-day Inca Trail is the option that guarantees the complete experience of the original journey. Unlike fast-track tours that take you straight to the destination, this route allows you to witness the gradual transition from deep valleys to cloud forests, letting you absorb the scale of Inca engineering in its true context. By choosing this version, you don’t just visit Machu Picchu; you understand its significance through the multiple archaeological sites only visible along this path. It is the choice for the traveler seeking depth, authenticity, and the privilege of entering the citadel through the Sun Gate, just as it was done centuries ago.
Operated by Southern Peru Explorers, a skilled, local, and fully certified tour operator based in Cusco with more than 12 years of experience, this journey reflects our passion for authentic adventure. While we also offer alternatives like the Salkantay Trek and extended 5-day routes, the Classic Inca Trail remains the most meaningful day Inca Trail experience for travelers seeking a once-in-a-lifetime connection with history, nature, and culture.

When Is the Best Time to Do the Inca Trail?
The best time to hike the Inca Trail is between April and October, when weather conditions are generally more stable and rainfall is minimal. This is also the busiest season, so permits sell out quickly. Planning several months ahead is highly recommended to secure your spot.

Of course. Entrance to Machu Picchu is included in the tour. Climax of the tour lies in reaching the world-famous citadel, at which point the Inca Trail comes to an end.
